Tony Goff & The Broken Colours ‘Mirrors’ – Review

Indie, Music, New Bands

Tony Goff & The Broken Colours is a fresh lick of paint to rock and roll as we know it. The band have developed a distinctive charm, which will no doubt play a huge part in this new single ‘Mirrors’. In many ways, this will be a coming of age record – firmly setting the tone of who they are not only through reflection, but pointing towards the future.

Latest single ‘Mirrors’ sees Tony Goff & The Broken Colours draw on inspirations from indie legends such as The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender, exploring difficulties of self identification while serving a straight up indie bop. The band certainly takes that pop rock element in their stride, creating something that is comfortingly familiar, while absolutely their own.

Speaking of this latest release Tony stated: The Current album being written and the singles from it, relate to Tony Goff’s personal struggles and challenges,  but written in an uplifting way as almost to remind Tony of what he has to do.

However, Tony Goff & The Broken Colours in this track adds a different dimension. With a sprightly melody, bustling rhythm and vibrant vocals, the tone shifts more to accepting oneself rather than dwelling in discomfort. This results in something that is not only brutally honest, but catchy and fun – a hit that is both validating and full of hope.
